Alert: ASIC requires directors appointed before 1 November 2021 to apply for Director's Identification Number (DIN) by 30 November 2022, new directors appointed to a company between 1 November 2021 abd 4 April 2022 need to apply for DIN within 28 days from their appointments and finally from 5 April 2022 any new directors intending to be appointed as directors must hold DIN before being appointed.
Penalties: ASIC can enforce the maxmimum penalty for an offence against section 1272C(1) of the Corporations Act 2001 equal to 60 penalty units which equates to $13,320.
